I've got a Thomson Scenium TV which is playing up. When I switch on, the red standby light turns to amber. This may quickly turn green and i'm off and running. However, mostly if flashes between yellow and green 2 times then 6 times. Eventually it will swap and go the other way round!!! Eventually, i'll get to watch some tele!!!
Seems it may be some kind of fault indication but cant find a reference to it anywhere. Waiting for it to go completely now. Dont want to spend money if its gonna be expensive.

hi agemad,
i have a goodmans freeview box witch does exactly the same thing, sometimes it switches itself off completly. it has done this for quite
sometime, i can only think it is sensitive to
fluctuations in voltage.
all the best.
sounds like bad capacitors in the power supply. Worth getting repaired if the set has a good picture and tube isn't worn out. Probably a better picture than the LCD and plasma rubbish people are swallowing these days!

Thanks Romko.

I was wondering whether the power supply was at fault. Now all I need to do is find someone to repair it who won't rip me off (or am I just being pessimistic?!)
