I was in work the other day making some toast when the toaster went 'pop' and there was a blue flash. It was still working except for one of the elements, which no longer heats up or toasts. It's still under guarantee, but I wondered if it it actually dangerous to use now?

If its still under guarantee then use the guarantee.better to be safe than something else happens to it.
Hi chicklin, most everything that is sold from a retail supplier in the UK is guaranteed for six years by the retailer not the manufacturer, 'under reasonable use' this has been law since 1997, so take it back to the shop with proof of purchase, they have to give you a new one or have it repaired free. so take no notice of the present guarantee, if it's a year old it still has to work for another 5 years so long you have treated it with kindness!
