Can you view a programme on one channel and record something on a D V D on another channel at the same time?
Thanks.

It depends. I have terrestrial aerial so I can.

If you are relying on tv through a digital box of some kind, then no - unless it is has two tuners, then you can.

There are few recorders that do this. However, the Panasonic DMR EZ45 does, and incorporates not only an analog TV tuner, but a terrestial digital tuner as well. It can also record VHS tape to DVD, and uses almost all DVD formats including RAM DVD. You can even insert a camera card into its SD slot and record your photos to DVD. In fact, it does almost everything.
My wife bought me one for Christmas! Now all those ancient but fave VHS tapes can go onto DVD. Yay!
