hi folks..

i was wondering if anyone can tell me how to cast molten 9ct gold....

i want to melt a couple of old necklaces and make a unique one off pendant.
i think the actual melting can be done at home...
where im lost, is how to cast molten gold.
i havent a clue what method to use for pouring the liquid.

what should i use for a mould and how do i prepare it ????
i dont expect to get a perfect finish, but even if its slightly rough, i can re-work to get the finish i require.

many thanks in advance.

Since the melting point of gold is just over 1000C, you need some very good oven gloves!!
i hade a big ring and a gold tooth made from broken gold some years ago, but i had it melted with my local jewelers for about 30.00 and you get back a dull nugget
