I doubt that it would work.

Dropping the voltage wouldn't be a problem; you'd just need a suitable transformer.

However, UK TV's are designed for 'PAL I' transmissions, whereas Germany uses the PAL B/G' standard. These systems have a different separation between the audio and video carrier signals, and are therefore not compatible.

Thank You Chris. Not the answer I was hoping for given how new it is, if only I could of had a crystal ball to tell that I would be moving to a new country!
Hi Movingon,

You can purchase a portable Satellite system from Maplins for about 60, you will then be able to pick up Astra2 satellite that would enable you to view all BBC & ITV programmes from all regions + the freeview programmes that are currently available. The only 2 that cannot be picked up are channel 4 & 5 as they are encrypted. However I have been informed that these will be available soon???

Lidl the supermarket sells this product as well but you must be quick as it disappears from their shelves as soon as it is put on them.

I have 2 of these, 1 for my motorhome and the other I have installed at home, in my opinion "Fantastic value for money". And you can still use your Samsung TV.

Regards
Don't forget BFBS - British Forces Broadcasting Service (TV) which will give you a lot of UK programmes.
