the bubbles themselves are not white, they have no colour in the same way as a mirror has no colour, they are just reflecting the surrounding light, and as you would normally view a bubble in white light they look white. try viewing a bubble under a different colour light it will look that colour.

what the hell made you think of that at gone 2am :)

More to the point what made me answer it :)

Hey Chuck! When do you get to have some sleep? Are you tied to your PC? Incidentally, my wife bought a Electric Bendy Bed which arrived yesterday, and I had about two hours sleep myself . So, it`s going back `tout suit`, I can`t recommend it, it`s like sleeping on a floor, which to some people with bad backs may be preferable. Sorry Maxineelaine, I do go on sometimes, but it gives an insight to others.
makes note to change lighting in bathroom to brothel red just to see the change of bubbles
lol shy
try a water bed mmmmmmmmmmm! comfy

bubbles actually are coloured (if you are talking about the surface)
if you go into a church when the moon is shining through the stained glass window (apart from shivering in your boots) you'll see that the light on the floor is white

... if you go to the theatre the lights will be a mixture of colours but (unless its 1 single colour) it will show as white on the actor HOWEVER the shadow will show as the colour 90deg opposite (on the floor).

a bubble is 1 molecule thick - so while it might be blue .... it's only 1 molecule of blue.
additionally bubbles are prismatic ... so they show all the colours of the rainbow.

combine all the colours - and you get white - which is brighter than the blue ... so you "see" slightly dimmed white ... not blue.

foam is the same with bells on - 1000s of ikkle prisms drowning out the blue blue
