How to remove a name from house deeds

I wish to remove my name from the deeds of our currently jointly owned freehold property, leaving my wife as the sole owner of the property.
The property is valued at around �160,000 and there is a relatively small mortgage outstanding in our joint names.
Can you please advise of the correct procedure involved for completing this so that it is legally sound and would it be necessary to involve solicitors.

You need to get the lender to agree and then use that agreement to get the land regitry to change the entry on the register. No need for solicitors. Deeds have no relevance in most cases these days.
If you are trying to protect an asset in the anticipation of a bankruptcy - this may not work - take advice - just thought I would flag this up sorry of not approriate
