Could someone please help me with a little problem. Our boiler has packed up and we have no heating and i am thinking of putting electric heaters in the rooms until we get it fixed. How much can a normal ring main take as i dont want to overload our system. Thank you in advance.

I've been led to believe that it is seven killowats. Hence the reason for my having two ring mains in my house which is heated by Dimplex oil filled radiators and fan heaters....If you have trip switches on your electrical circuits I think they will trip-out on an overload....mine do .....Ron
I thought about 7.2Kw (30amp)

you also may have separate rings for upstairs and downstairs though
That,s what I've got. Seperate circuits for upstairs and down....Ron
