Why are so many questions posted in this catagory about Vauxhalls and their problems?
It worries me, I've just bought a Vauxhall Zafira.

You should be OK.  Most of the Vauxhall questions seem to be about Vectras.  I'm kept quite busy typing out chunks from my Vectra manual.

I hope you've got the manual with your Zafira!

Perhaps I should add, Ray, that my Vectra has never let me down yet in the four years I've had it.  It's cost me tyres, an exhaust and one headlamp bulb, besides petrol and regular servicing of course.  I have no thoughts of getting rid of it.
If it helps Ray the DJ, we've got a 1.4 petrol Corsa (owned 4 years) & 2.0 DTI diesel Zafira (owned 2 years) & they're both excellent cars.  Both cars get absolutely hammered with mileage but we have them both serviced regularly and they've never let us down.  (We've also had a Nova, an Astra & a Vectra in the past & the same applies to them).  We would have to be offered an excellent deal to even consider buying anything other than Vauxhall.
i'm not a fan of vauxhalls but even i admit that its probably down to them being popular hence a lot of queries
Well 5 weeks ago I received a new company car the new Astra, it is awful, horid ride you sit on the seat not in it no poke, you name it its not got it, its so bad I am thinking changing job cause of it

I had a Vauxhall Zafira, fantastic car. The back seats are amazing, but a little uncomfortable for long journeys. At first there was a fault with the air con (leaded coolant or something, don't know the ins and outs but when you turned it on there was a chemical stench) but vauxhall fixed this up no probs.

Mind you, have now changed to a VW Touran, but only because of the company car list of choice.

I would have no worries. Most problems on here refer to problems with older models which do indeed have known issues. GM know about these and have worked hard on ironing out potential niggles with their new product range as a result. Probably quite smart as they have made a fortune on spares for those of us who don't drive new motors ! .
