DVD zoom problem

I have a technosonic dvd player. It seems to be stuck on zoom. I have pressed the zoom button and it will zoom from x1 to x2 to x4. x1 is still far to zoomed in. How can I "unzoom' it? The movies have people's heads cut off because it's zooming in too close.

Try unplugging the machine and then plugging in again. This used to work in the early days of VCRs, and was advice given to me recently when my freeview box froze.
