Yes, they are allowed unless there are already bids on it.

thank you jilius,
the last time i looked there werent any bids, so fingers crossed.
hes not replied to my email yet.
Unless your offer is so good he will want the auction to run the end.
If it says buy now you click on that you dont send the seller an email.
hi looobyooo ,are you sure you will get it by christmas ? they wont be able to send it till tomorrow at earliest and will take a few days to get to you unless you also offer to pay extra postage for them to send it next day delivery

hi chapstick
thanks for replying,
ive left it for now, the chap replied to my email and asked for a silly amount for it, way beyond its value, so ive bought an alernative prezzie now.
i will keep an eye on it and see if it gets any bids and if the price is reasonable i might put one in myself and if i win it i can give it as a belated 'extra' present cant i :o)

hi whiskeyron,
thanks for answering,
noo, it wasnt a buy now item, else idve bought it there and then, it was a bidding item and ends christmas day, so ive got it in my 'watched' items :o)
Hi loooobylooo, next time you search for an item click on the "nearest first" option, that way you can pick it up yourself rather than wait for postage
Question Author
thats a good idea elvis, thanks for that, i will remember that in future, thank you :o)
Also by using the nearest first option you can message the seller and make an offer to end the item early by offering to pick it up and pay cash
Question Author
riiiiight ... good thinking bat man!
thanks for that, another thing to bear in mind eh :o)
