And by that, I mean all those little rules and regs that we maybe should know, but don't. How much coinage does a shop have to accept legally? What IS the law re-waiting time on double yellows? Restaurant service charges....do we HAVE to pay? etc., etc. There must be millions of small - and large - niggles that we aren't totally certain about.......

I can answer the Double Yellow lines one, you CANNOT stop on a Double Yellow line at all, simple as that.

Anything above 20p (or is it 25p) in 1p and 2p coins does not have to be accepted. Service charges in restaurants are at the customers discretion.
