Hi i have been given a camera manufactured in the US. i know it needs a converter for me to charge it and have found this 1 online:

Wuill this allow me to charge to camera safely ie enough wattage etc. The camera is nikon coolpix s8100 if this helps

If you have a charger for the camera check what is written on the charger.

Most chargers will say input voltage 110 - 240V 50 - 60Htz

If it says that on it you can use it in the UK without a voltage adaptor, you just need a travel adaptor so change it to the correct plug type.
You can also buy the charger from ebay
