o2 tariffs, keeping the cost down.

Does anyone know if you sign up for an o2 tariff, and top up say £5, can I still then go on and use the £5 for calls, texts etc?
if that makes any sense, or do you get charged for it like a bolt on?
Thanks :)

I just need to top up 10 a month, and i can use that 10 for calls,. but that's not the same as a bolt on which is a seperate charge
okay what are you bolting on? I have a PAYG tariff for my texts and calls and an internet bolt on. I have to make sure that my balance at the time that they take the monthly bolt on charge has enough there to cover it. Before and after the day when they take the charge, I can let it run down as low as i like. Does that help?
