Help! Dog sat on my cordless phone - now blank.

Can anyone help please. The dog sat on my Panasonic Digital Cordless phone and now it's completely blank. He did switch it off completely but I got it back on and now the light is on but nothing else. No time or date, all my stored numbers gone - everything. I've got the Operating Instructions but can't see anything on this problem. Does anyone know a way of getting all my data back?

Try just leaving it on the base - sometimes mine has to register the handset (or something like that), and it is blank or flashing for a while. It sorts itself out after a bit.

Karen - I bought a Panasonic Digital cordless phone - £120 just over a year ago, thinking it'd last.

It's packed up - both lounge and bedroom handsets - I'll never but a 'name' brand phone again!!!

I know this doesn't help you, but I think it might show how crap these brand phones are!?!

Mine is just a cheap BT one, and I have 2 different models - but I've noticed they both do this from time to time as do the phones at work which are something else entirely (can't remember what). it seems to be a problem with cordless phones in general.
As for yours Halifax, have you tried replacing the batteries? Although they are rechargeable, they do eventually die (that's how I've got 2 different sets of phone, I thought the first had died and bought a new one, but it was just the batteries needing replaced).

Have you checked if the battery's are still in the phone, or up his bum?

Update. Thanks everyone for your help but I left it in its cradle all night and it was working this morning.
