Both my parents are now living in (sadly separate) nursing homes and both have hearing aids, glasses, specialist lounge chairs and wheelchairs. I would like to insure these effects but can't get passed home, nursing home or life insurance blurb - anyone know of a companyI thanks in anticipation

I'd suggest contacting something like Age Concern, they might well be able to help.
Have you checked that the nursing homes do not have insurance to cover, I was advised not to let Mum keep possessions that would amass to more than £1000 due to insurance limit.
it is now their home, so i would imagine home contents would cover it.
Endsleigh used to do a a policy for students which was for those who had an individual room in a house - perhaps they would do it?
Endsleigh is also mentioned in this article..

Check first with the homes - they may provide insurance for personal effects belonging to the residents.
If they don't, or the cover is inadequate, contact a local insurance broker for advice. I doubt you will be able to do it with an online insurer.
Be sure to take photos of the insured items in situ, and a note of serial numbers where appropriate.
This insurance should not be expensive.
