Proof of Address

I recently had a collision and am due to get a hire car on Monday for the duration when my car will be being repaired. They have asked that have both parts of my driving license (which is not a problem) and another form of ID which proves I live at my address. This is where I am having difficulty; I live with my parents so none of the bills are sent to me, I am 'paper free' with my bank account so no longer get statements sent to the house and my payslips do not have my address on. Is there anything else I could use; am racking my brain and can't think of anything!

contract of employment? surely you have some mail coming to your address?

Have my insurance certificate but am guessing they need something that isn't from them?
And on PAYG for mobile! Is a nightmare; only other thing I've thought of is my P60, haven't had it from work yet though so don't know if that would have my address on?

Will check my contract but not even sure if that has my address on it!
And nope don't really get any mail; only mail I used to get was from the bank but as I said I'm 'paper free' with that now; although I may have some information letters like 'changes to your bank account' one; not sure how recent though!

Most placed won't accept a mobile phone bill as proof anway.

If you go to your nearest branch of your bank would they be able to provide something?

Maybe milly; will go in tomorrow if they're open. Really thought my address was on my pay slip but just checked and it's not!

You could write a letter to yourself, post it first class and have it in a day or two. At least it would be post-marked etc.
They must have encountered this problem before, so why not give them a ring and ask them what they will accept.

You can go online and print out a bank statement, which will have your address on.
This will be fine.

ladyalex; don't think that will prove anything as I could send a letter to anyones address with my name on it and it would still get there even though I don't live there!
Have just found a direct debit order for my contact lenses which has my address on but that was set up last year, will ring work to see if they have my P60!

Oh. I do apologise. Mine do, therefore I just assumed they all would.
In that case, I would follow Milly143's advice and go into your bank. I remember having to ask them to print off something similar for myself a few years back. It may be worth giving them a call and letting them know beforehand. Saturdays tend to be very busy for banks, and you may be waiting a while!

Thanks flip; have just checked and it does have my address but says 'This is not an official bank copy' on it so not sure if they'll be a bit iffy with it.
Also; have just rung work and they don't have my P60 which means I must have been given it which means I have no idea where it is!
I am carmalee; could they provide something for me do you think?

Sophie_1003, it should be fine. Most companies these days understand that people are 'paper free', so I can't see it being a problem. Maybe take your P60 along too.

Have found my P60, also have my contract of employment which does have my address on, the registration certificate for the car, and various other bits and pieces which have my address on but are from a while a go!

sophie - I'm sure if you just ask them for verification that you are registered with them at your address, they will help you - at least I'm sure mine would - good luck
