Can anyone recommend a cheap home insurance company please????

One person's recommendation is another person's nightmare - it depends on personal experiences. M&S have a good reputation for dealing with claims but I find their quotes too high - I'd rather fight my corner if I have to claim.
Home insurance is based on where you live (and other factors) and different insurers assess risk (of a potential claim) in different ways - so it is worth shopping around.
I use one of the sites that search different companies and intermediaries. Here is one but there are lots.

And I do it every year - without fail.
This October for me, premiums have ranged between �137 and �257 for the same cover.
Make sure you set up the same parameters each time you search - some include legal cover as std, for example, some add it on as an extra.
In general it's good deal to buy buildings insurance and contents insurance together as consolidation saves money versus having two policies.
