A bit part actor today can become a global icon tomorrow! Their monetary value can rocket within hours, and insurers don't like big risks! But apart from that, the circles in which you are perceived to move in are a factor. So, even if you're a film extra, you could potentially give CZJ a lift home, crash and injure her. The cost of the claim would be infinately higher than for an average Joe - so your car insurance is higher. Home insurance - same sketch. CZJ might visit and have an accident. I haven't got any specific companies that I could recommend, but speaking to a broker who can point you in the direction of insurers specialising in high risks would be your best bet. Hope this helps!
It's risk by association - if you;re an actor, then it's possible that one day you will carry someone as, or more famous than yourself in a car. If you have an accident (that you;re at fault for), and that actor is injured and is unable to fulfil a contract, can you imagine the compensation claim?
Same applies for sportsmen (especially footballers).

Hi Yorkie580. I'm an actor and have worked on many film sets and been on a few television programmes (not as an extra!). I've checked mith many insurers and also find it difficult (especially, as you mentioned) life insurance.
I know this thread is pretty old by now but I have found a perfect life insurance deal with a financial advisor. Feel free to get in touch and I can pass on his details. GM x
