If you can afford it, and for complete peace of mind you should look for a policy that will cover your puppy for life for any condition. A lot of policies will be cheaper but you can only claim for 12 months for any ongoing condition. but with a lifetime policy you will be able to claim for an ongoing condition for however long your pet lives or suffers from an illness. Petplan do this type of policy, also More Than and I think M&S. If you post on A & N you will get a better response from people who will have opinions about the best insurance companies. But at the end of the day, you only get what you pay for. i hope this helps.
I agree entirely with whats posted above. A lifetime policy will be a bit more expensive but they cover lifetime conditions (ie heart conditions that need lifetime medication - a lot of policies such as supermarkets will stop paying out after 12 months).
i did some serious searching before deciding after being ripped off by Petplan. I found that the RSPCA (AXA) policy had the same as Petplan except for a 7000 limit on a condition (which should be more than enough). And it was nearly 10 quid a month cheaper - do some digging before yoy by and stay away from supermarkets policies.
