My husband is now over 80 and we are having trouble getting insurance. I have been the named driver for over 40 years but have no no claims record as I have never been the policy holder. Any advice would be much appreciated. We have never had a claim or any conviction.
aniani's suggestion is a good one......I've sent you a link......try it and get a quote online, otherwise you can call them to discuss on 0800 068 8718....
You're not the people featured in the Money section of The Independent today are you? On second thoughts you can't be but they had exactly the same problem and their answer was Saga, the article also said that Direct Line will transfer NCB for named drivers for spouses, can't find the link online at the moment
I took out a car insurance policy with SAGA last year because the price was reasonable and catered for "elderly drivers". However I have just received my renewall notice for this year and it has been increased from £296 to £404 which I find quite shocking because SAGA are supposed to have a good reputation for looking after the elderly drivers So how does that compute.?....S.O.G
Thanks to everyone for the very interesting posts. Got excellent rate from Saga but, as it included an introductory discount, I expect it to zoom next year - will think it out again then!
