National Insurance number

How do I find out my NI number? Or is there anything that I might have in my house that would have it on?

She's the one that asked for it as she needs it to fill in the forms to transfer the money from the account she has access to, to me. Plus if I get a job, I'll need to tell my employer it won't I?

Molly, read this page of the direct.gov website, it tells you how to get your NI number or how to find out what it is. It should have been sent to you a year ago, just before your 16th birthday. http://www.direct.gov...oBenefits/DG_10014073

It looks something like this: A-01-10-78-D.

You are right, you need to know what it is so they may send you a duplicate letter confirming it, but you need to contact them a.s.a.p.

Scroll right down the page and there is a link to form CA5403 to apply for this information.

You get a card, it's blue and red, you can't work without proving your right to work in the UK and proving your national insurance number for tax purposes.

I never got a letter. My friends msut have jsut ot a letter, I definatly remember some of them mentioning their national insurance thing arriving in the post.
