Part-time arrangement - bank holidays

Can anybody help me with this employment related question, or point me to somewhere on the web where I can investigate?
Basically I work for a friend's company, currently full-time (Monday-Friday). As of today we have agreed to scale back my hours (at my request) to do just three days per week, pro rata pay. We have opted for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for the days I will work. I have made the point this morning that this means I will miss the bank holiday free days, so to speak, and wondered how this would be factored into the new arrangement (i.e. can I take off another day in lieu) - my boss thought it was not a big deal but I said I would investigate on the grounds of being fair to both myself, and the company.
Does anybody know how this is worked out? For example, do I just have to accept that these statutory holidays are part of the arrangement should I wish to not work on these given days, or do I get some kind of return holiday in place?
Hopefully I've made myself clear! Any help greatly appreciated.

I see what you are sayng but if you agreed to only work Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays then I don't see how you can ask for bank holidays.
You must have realised that bank holidays wouldn't fall on these days before you agreed?
I don't work when the clock go back at 2am each October but I don't ask my boss to leave an hour early because of it, the next Monday.

Start with your current holiday entitlement based on 5 days a week. Add 8 bank holidays.
then take three-fifths of that.
That gives you your entitlement inclusive of bank holidays.
Then whenever you take a holiday or take a bank holiday that falls on your normal working day you count it as one of your holidays.
Your job share person does the same.

If Cassa's response was in response to my answer then I need to point out that under my suggested approach a Saturday worker would not get 8 bank holidays - Bank holidays would be earned pro-rata so at best someone who works one day out of five in a week would get a fifth of 8 days. But I agree that most employers would give no allowance to Saturday workers, although of course Xmas Day may fall on a Saturday.
So long as the statutory minimum holidays are given it's up to the employer how to treat bank holidays- I'm simply suggesting an approach that many companies now use to make sure part time staff get their fair share of holidays.I suggest VenalWinfrey puts this approach forward to her employer.

No Factor my answer was just a general one.
However one job I had didn't pay Saturday workers extra when xmas fell on the weekend as the official bank holiday fell on the Mon & Tue. It was rather lucky for those of us who worked full time as we didn't work the weekend and still had extra for bh.
I have been told in the past though that if your normal working days don't fall on a bh then you aren't entitled to anything at all. It might have changed now though as this was a few years back.
