At one stage in my life I applied , over a two year period, for well over 1000 jobs. Only about 30 employers (i.e. around 3%) ever bothered to reply at all. Even after I spent a full day (12 hours 50 minutes, starting at 5am, with no breaks) on an unpaid work trial, the employer still didn't have the courtesy to write (or phone) to tell me that I hadn't got the job.

Since January I have applied for about 30 jobs and have only received 2 'sorry to inform you ' replies. Its bloody annoying but I dont worry about it anymore. I have to agree with boxtops, there are so many people appling for so few jobs. Some companies are reporting over 200 applications per vacancy so it would cost them a fortune to reply to every one.

eddie i re read any cv i send, yes i admit i dont spell check my posts because i type them fast and i click submit answer before i get a chance to read what i posted, i do understand about grammer.
Reason why i posted the initial answer was because i thought i had what they were looking for which was a qualification plus i had experience of working in the area of business they are in
