Night Care workers staffing levels

Hi my partner works in a care home with 2 units.
the 1st has 35 residents with moderate to severe dementia.
the second has 9 residents with severe to end of life dementia.
they are currently extending both units by 5 bedrooms each.
during the night there are only 3 members of staff on duty including the supervisor. one of which has to stay in the severe to end of life unit for 2-3 hours on their own before swapping over. Does any one know the regulations on the minimum staff needed?

hi neil, i work in a nursing home,we are led to believe its 1 carer for every 10 residents plus we have 1 RGN on shift as well.We dont as yet have a severe to end of life unit. 3 staff seems totally inadequate for your partners work place, if you google csky's web page you should find some answers,hope this helps.

The home I work at has 78 beds, including dementia, residential and nursing. There is one RGN at night and five carers. The minimum staff level is calculated from your dependency assessments.
