"Ok, I'm probably overacting, but there was a time when I could ring up my bank a get a statement with just my account NO and sort code,"

That is quite true but where would it have been posted to? The address on the a/c not some random place on earth
pink-kittens - I think Dolt meant a verbal statement - balance given over the phone etc
ah, yes I may have misinterpreted the sentence, thank you =)

You asked a question, how many times do you need to be told ?

Hi Dolt- how can they pay you without your account details ( as I'm sure the payroll is done by bank transfer and they won't issue a ceque/cash)?

There will be other people/organisations that also have your account details- anyone you give a cheque to, anyone you pay by direct debit/standing order (council tax/gas/electricity/phone etc).

I very much doubt your employer would ever want to access your accout even if it could.
Why don't I give you my account number and sort code and then you can transfer all your savings and current account surplus (assuming you are in the black) over to me.....
I could look after it.
Have you moved to Nigeria, DT?
