Crb. How Much Longer Must I Wait?

I've been waiting for my D & B (CRB) to come back for SEVEN WEEKS now! Meanwhile, I'm sat waiting to start my job. Not only am I really looking forward to starting my new job, but my Job Seekers Allowance has run out, and I'm struggling financially. I know these things can take tiime, but I've already got one dated June this year, so I know there aren't any problems, so why is it taking so long? How long has anyone else out there had to wait recently? I'm beginning to lose heart.

I got mine recently in about 4 weeks

I once helped out at brownies. When I started they said I would be checked. Weeks went by and I heard nothing. In the end I stopped helping at the brownies. That was a few years ago now and nobody every contacted me!

i thought that the d and b covered more than 1 job, unlike crb so if you already have one why do you need another?

Nope. I've already got two D & B's for this year; one dated May and the other dated June, but apparently, it makes no difference. I rang to complain about the long wait, but they said there's nothing I can do about it. Trouble is, whilst I'm waiting, I have no income. So when I finally do start, it'll take ages to get back on track financially. It's kind of taking the edge of my excitement about the new job.
