Hi, my girlfriend has no qualifications apart from an NVQ Level 1 in Hairdressing, she went for an interview and they have given her a weeks trial starting today. I was just wondering wether they are ripping her off and won't p[ay her, has anybody else done this? a wage was not discussed as she wanted to seem keen and not ask for money straight away.
She is 20 now, is it too late for her to do well in this profession , do you ideally need qualifications?

As for wages, she should be getting paid for her services, even though it is for one week - she is providing a service to that business and should, in turn, be getting paid for it.
For the employer not to raise the subject of getting paid, seems to me like they are taking advntage of her good nature and need to get on well. Please tell your girlfriend to ak about it as soon as possible :)
