The first step is to confront the menace. Go to the person who' s doing harassing and try to determine why it' s happening and how to stop it.
You should keep a journal of the abusive experiences. If the confrontation doesn' t work, you should seek people who have experienced similar problems and go to the next level.
If you are in a union, you can take your complaints to a union representative. Otherwise you will have to go to the bully's boss.
Either way, when things are getting hairy at the workplace, communication becomes essential, but the communication has to be directed to an individual who can do something about the problem.
You' ve got to talk to someone in a position to solve it, not just moan to colleagues. You are not alone, help can be found here:
