Both in March.

Yes hopefully they do or have more money coming in.

Now I been told you don't contract until after probation.

Question Author

So another staff member has told they had thier hours cut

That's not great news, Abbey - that worker might be given any extra hours that come along (through sickness, holidays etc) before you do!

You say your hours are 10 hours a week now. Is that cleaning, working on the checkout or a combination of both?

Question Author

Yes just like me.

Both if I cover breaks.

Good evening,

if I may say, I am very confused!

did you take a job for 10 hours but been doing 37 because there was 'overtime' available?

if that is the case then any contract you receive will be for 10 hours.

Also, you cannot complain at only doing 10 hours if that is what you were hired to do.

Question Author

Yes coz they said they would give me my 37 hours after my 2 week trial on checkout and I was still in my last job when I first had 10 hours.

Question Author

So after work today I had a seizure when I was going home and I don't weather it is to do with stress at work.

Good afternoon,

Sorry to hear that, did you go to your doctor?

Are you going into work tomorrow?

Work will always be stressful especially when you have to work extra hard to show that you are up to the job.

Did you make your employer aware of all your medical conditions when you accepted the job?

Have you had adjustments made by your employers.

If I remember correctly it's been a long time since your last seizure.

It could be stress related but they can happen for no reason.

I think it could be stress-related too, abbey.  Try not to worry - easier said than done I know - but do try.  Take it easy and don't let anyone get to you.

Do you have medication for it, if so do you remember to take it Abbey

Question Author

Thanks

Not sure if I'm going to work yet see how I feel.

No I haven't only happen few hours ago.

Yes and normally I do

I've set alarms for  everyday now.

I filled in a form when I started.

So you probably forgot to take it, glad to hear you've set up an alarm.

I worked in a DIY store many years ago with a young lass who suffered seizures and she was always forgetting her medication and having seizures at work which was frightening in that environment.

Question Author

I kind of think if I was in work I wouldn't have had one.

Go to work if you can, abbey.

Question Author

I will hopefully.

There's a girl there who has displine for going sick and she is in alot of pain.

They seemed a good bunch when I started and thought it would be long term.

Question Author

As a colleuge said they are not helping me and if a job comes up with more hours go for it.

Abbey, there's nothing to stop you looking around for another job, one with full-time hours - but just remember how long it took for you to get your present one.  If you're currently doing only 10 hours a week, you should be able to fit in any interviews that come up.

PS I'm not sure what 'they're not helping me' means? Selco seemed quite reasonable, giving you time off for various reasons, changing shifts and so on. Yes, they can't - or won't - give you all the hours you want, but they did seem to make an effort to ensure you could do the check-out job.

Question Author

Yes they did. I think she meant not giving me full time hours if they want to keep or saying I need to know all these products in a month. It was horrible doing 2 today.
