I want to know how to appear on police identity parades (excluding the obvious). I would like to know how much you get for appearing in such parades.

There are a couple of ways. You can go along to your local police station and put yourself forward. I'm not sure if your're paid anymore. The second way is a little more extreme. You could hold up a bank and then tell the police you want to be in a line up. (clearly the second way involves criminal activity which I am in no way condoning the use of).

You can't as they are done with video recordings of people's faces taken from a national database, which is constantly updated, rather than a parade.

I'd be scared in case some half-blind old woman picked me out and got me banged up!
It is generally done by photo and computer these days, generally get paid only a few quid and you only need to do it once.

Hi Maderic. It's all done on computer now, it's called VIPER ID. The people are paid 10 to have their photos taken, front and both sides. Having attended several of these ID's I was surprised to learn that the "criminal" is allowed to choose the people that they would like to be in the "parade" with, so they and their lawyer get to wade through thousands of pictures to find people that look just like them and also choose where they want to appear for example between two people witth the most similarities! Kind of scary I think...

When I looked into this about 2 yrs ago, they wanted men, especially young ones more than anything...they do pay alittle but not much.......men get the jobs better than women..cos more men do crimes :(
