Neverending cycle.
8 Answers
I live in a rather remote area of Hampshire. In fact, in my village, the sheep outnumber the people.
There is no local work, and the nearest town is too far to walk. There are NO buses. I repeat - no buses!!! and even the most local taxi firm is far enough away that they charge 5 before they've even arrived at my house to pick me up.
I tried my luck at the local pub, they haven't enough customers to afford to pay more then one barmaid!
There are no children in need of childminders or babysitters.
Its looking like my only option is to get myself a car, and some driving lessons and apply for some jobs in the nearest town.
Guess what? due to lack of job, i have no money for driving lessons or a car.
I have no chance of getting any money either, i live with my fiance who makes enough for us to live, but no extra for lessons. My parents have no money and I can't borrow any......
Its a neverending cycle - what on earth do i do????

Are there any "remote" parts of Hampshire?
Get a bike. Surely you can cycle to town? can you car share with your partner, presumably he has a car to get to his work? get a job and arrange with him to give you a lift. It's not rocket science, but negative thinking will prevent you from seeing what's right in front of you.
Failing that, move house.
i feel for you it is difficult not being able to travel for work... but could you afford to get yourself a moped? second hand one could be quite affordable - you only need a quick lesson with before you can hit the roads with a learner plate on... then get a job and eventually get the test done... do you think its possible
i would suggest getting a motorbike ... you dont say how old you are but if you were looking for pub work, ill presume you are old enough to ride one! they are so much cheaper than cars to run/buy (road tax = 15 pounds per year, tank of petrol = 7 pounds) im talking about a 125 cc. It will cost you about 50 - 100 pounds to do your cbt, then get a 2nd hand one and you are away!
Nice one guys, it actually hadn't occured to me to work from home! Chers Jamwan, I'm checkin that out asap! x
Gammaray - nah, he has a bike......and his place of work is a factory in the middle of nowhere (not somewhere i;'d consider working) But nice idea. Moving home - hehehe, i wish! its not my house (its my fiances fathers place), and we can't afford to move out! Hopefully be on the council list soon, but we have the cushy life here, with fairly low rent.
Undercovers, yeh, that actually sounds doable, thanks. :) Same to you Kazza.
Cheers Antiguru.
Cheekystar - i don't suppose you'd happen to have any idea what its likely to cost if a friend were to give me driving lessons?
as in if i only paid for the actual tests?
Andy - **slaps** hehehe cheeky!
