Hi there! Just wondering if anyone had any good ideas on developing a primary school assembly based on friendship?

On the TV the other day there was a programme about the two friends who were stuck in the snow on a mountain somewhere, for example. Maybe you could tell them a few things like that, with a moral to each story at the end?
Also, how about referring to the TV programme 'Friends'? Most children are familar with it so it should keep them interested.

Is this a general assembly given by a teacher or are the children taking part?
If I was going to do one I would start by welcoming the children and announcing what the assembly is about then read them a short friendship based story and do some sort of question and answer minute - children love that!
You could also maybe do a few prayers (if you are a religious school) and then tie the assembely up with a song!
When is this assembley - you could get some of the children to write about their friends and what they enjoy doing with them etc
