my daughter will be 15 soon and would like to get a part-time job, we live in Scotland. Can she work part-time before the age of 16 and if so what type of jobs can she do?

Anyone who employs your daughter will have to obtain a permit from the local education authority. There are restrictions on the type of work which can be undertaken, the number of hours worked each day and per week, together with rules about the earliest and latest hours which can be worked. Or, dont bother with that conplicated stuff and go for something simpler like washing dishes at a restaraunt or working at your local shops.

She can get a job as a saturday girl in a hairdresser doing simple stuff such as sweeping cleaning and washing hair :) xx
