I work full time at the moment, (clerical work 9am - 5pm Mon - Fri) and am thinking of starting a family. Will I be entitled to return to work once maternity leave has ended, on part time hours?

Im not sure what the rules are with regards to my entitlements at work with regards to working hours and times. TIA.

Yes, they have to offer you part time hours
i dont think they have to. I think they have to give part time hours proper consideration.
They do however have to hold your position for you to return to after maternity leave. Maternity leave is changing to 6 weeks at 90% pay and then 46 weeks @ statuatory maternity pay (about 110 a week)
this may explain it a bit better http://www.acas.co.uk/index.aspx?articleid=115 3
