Hi
NVQ's don't normally have a pass/fail mark, they are based on the learner demonstrating their competency at different tasks/skills and demonstrating they have sufficient underpinning knowledge to demonstrate their understanding in various subject areas. Each learner has an assessor who determines when the candidate has demonstarted competency against the standards required by each skill sector. Learners collect a portfolio of evidence in which records of practical assessments, questions and answers and written assignments are kept. Assessors usually keep the candidate informed of their progress and support the learner with any gaps in their knowledge by providing or securing appropriate training.
