job application.... help!!!!!!!!!

I am currently looking for a new job... I have quite a good basic education as well as good life experience.
My question IS..... What is a good answer to put in the 'VOLUNTARY WORK' section of applications. I work full time and have no time for unpaid work. I dont want to leave this section empty..........
ANY advise PLEASE!?!?

If you have done no voluntary work you will have to leave it blank

I don't think all that many people get time for voluntary work. I really don't think leaving that blank would go against you.

Having interviewed applicants for jobs in the past, you are likely to be asked more questions about anything yu puit in that box. Don't make anything uip or you will be found out and it will go against you. Leave it blank. It could only be necessary if the job you were applying for was with a charity.

I dont think i'll bother applying for owt.
Judging by my spelling and the fact that i'm too selfish to do any voluntary work, i woldn't employ me either..
i might just become a hermit and watch Jeremy Kyle all day.

I doubt anyone will expect you have done voluntary work, it's just a carefully thought out section of the application form so that people who have only done voluntary work can have that taken into account. Not everyone has worked full time for paid employment - some may have been carers for example who have had a bit of time to spare in the voluntary sector.

So, if you haven't done any voluntary work, then simply put *none*.

Regarding the comments about your spelling, people here were just trying to be helpful - you did say in the original post that you had a good basic education, so it was obviously a silly typo :)

I used to be a Scout leader, so I'd put that in my applications. I also helped out at my kids' school.

Also, I'm in a band, where I'm band librarian and webmaster, so I tend to put that on application forms. After all, it's a service I perform for the band over and above being an ordinary member, and one for which I don't charge.

Even if you only do a little housework for your parents (assuming you don't live with them), it could count.
