Adults with learning difficulties
7 Answers
I teach adults who need help with reading and sums. I have been told by my boss that I can set up a course for 6 -8 weeks, one afternoon per week on any subject I like. I cannot get an oven or I would do cooking - any other suggestions? I also take them out to museums so thats already covered. I am looking for imaginative & interesting subjects. Help!

Clearly the exercise that you use depends on the ability of your group but some examples are:
1 - How many irons are you able to buy for under 15?
2 - What page do the watches start on?
3 - Cut out the picture of your favourite duvet cover.
I used to use argos catalogues when I worked with young people leaving care. They used them to work out just how much money they needed to buy everything they needed to furnish their flats.
Hope this helps.
