imminent redundancy - help!

i have a consultation within the next couple of days. our company is not represented by a union. i am allowed to take a representative in with me to make sure things are ok, IF i know one, but i dont know anyone who has this kind of knowledge. is there any organisations out there, that would hire out a knowledgeable person for this purpose? i suspect our company arent quite following procedures (it. they already know who they want to be rid of, prior to consultation) but will have probably thought of all the questions or barriers I could put in the way, but not necessarily somone who has good knowledge of the law with regard to this.
