Last September/October I returned a faulty video card to videocardshop.co.uk & was due a refund. Shortly after that my brother passed away & I forgot about the refund. I can see no record of it on my card statements so I emailed them (twice) & got this reply:

"Thank you for your email , unfortunatley you have left your query for over a year now and we are now on a new financial year .

"Normally any refund queries are put forward and resolved within a three months period.

That is all it says!

I returned the card by registered post. Is there a time limit of any sort that might affect my rights to a refund & how long is registered post kept on record (in case they say they diodn't receive it)?

tell them as they cannot issue a refund, they can still provide you with a replacement video card
To be pedantic, you can't have sent anything by 'registered post' because that service (per se) hasn't existed for years. (You now have a choice between 'Recorded Delivery' and 'Special Delivery'). However, either way, entering the reference number here should show not only the date and time that your package was received but also the signature of the person who signed for it:

If the vendor owed you money at that time, they still owe you money now. Hassle!

I thought they would still have to pay it. I certainly will hassle them for it! Thanks for the info & the link will be really useful.
