as a council tennant is there any law to aid someone with an asthmatic child who is living in a property with confirmed rising damp to the detriment of the child. where is the best place for info/advice

go to your doctor and get a letter about it and take it to the council,they should move you,but it could take a lot of hassleing them to make it happen

Are you trying to get moved from your present home?

I would go to the doctor like the previous poster suggested although i know some councils/HAs are starting to refuse these because there are so many!!!

You should also get someone from environmental health to come and look at the property and to write a report for you.

Also it might help if you could get a local ward councillor involved to support your case.

we was in the same sitution as you all we did get a letter from the doctor and our healthvisitor we also got in touch with local council welfare support services, environmental health and our local councilor the council have to remove it because it comes under medical grounds and welfare of all the family

after moving after a month our childrens health improve 100%

it did take from start from finish about a year
but if you dont what to move you have got to report it to the council repair team they have to do in 28 working days
you can still get help off the above even if you dont want to move
