a club has a smoking shelter only 3 ft away from my garden hedge
I was just wondering if they would have had to have a fire risk assessment done by the local fire brigade for insurance purposes.
Also if a fire was to start and damage was done to my property would the clubs insurance pay for the damage or would i have to claim off my own insurance.

Just seen your query.
If the damage was to your property as opposed to the hedge, claim on your own insurance and give your insurer all the details. If there is any liability on the part of the club, your insurer may claim against them or their insurer.
If you claim on your own insurance you will merely have to show that fire damage occurred which would be fairly simple.
To claim on their insurance you would have to prove that they were responsible and liable which would be more difficult. Your hedge itself may or may not be covered depending on what your policy says so if that was damaged you may have to try to claim against the club.
