Fly GlobeSpan are trying to charge us over 400 to change the date of a return journey. Meantime THEY have changed all the flight times much to our inconvenience. They have offered us the chance to go from another airport . Does anyone have an ideas about how we sort it out the problem of the charge to the return journey?

Have a look at a small print. There's probably something in their T&Cs to say they can do it under certain circumstances. Equally there's going to be something else that says that you must pay a sum if you want to change.
Unless you fancy trying to claim that's its an unfair contract clause, I suspect you can't do anything about it.
Are you maintaining that you have had to amend your dates AS A RESULT OF them having changed theirs?
Question Author
No. The only reason what we need to change dates is due to a mix up at our end. I think you're right though I checked the Terms and Conditions and it's pretty clear that we will have to cough up, oh well! The joy of cheap flights.
Gggggggrrrrr... this question makes me mad . I HATE airlines doing stuff like this. Try and change your name on a flight and they charge 70 - WHY?

Rip off merchants the lot of them. Good luck!
Question Author
mmh. Even worse, I've just found out that 200 of the 400 charge is because they have changed the flights and are transferring us to another airport! In other words they are charging us for the priviledge of inconveniencing us. The only reason we asked them to change airports was because we couldn't fly with small children at the new time of 3am in the morning. This really dosen't seem reasonable. Groan.
if the change of aiport and time of the flight is considered a major change then you may be entitled to cancel your holiday and obtain a full refund. You could rebook another flight and holiday at a time to suit yourself
Question Author
Many thanks everyone. Just one question do you know what I need to quote at them to argue that it is a major change ? (which it definately is; think I will try this route) ta.
With flights if youre making changes like this then you usually need to pay.
if you cancel too close you get no money back.
where are you flying that you cant fly at 3am with the children?
if that was the only problem then id just do it.
ive flown at all hours with a small child.
ive found being a passenger that its not the time you fly with a child that really matters.some cry and howl constantly , others like my son , can fly anytime day or night.
if its gonna cost that much id just go.
And ihonestly dont think that the time being inconvenient for kids will count as a major change , tho rerouting is inconvenient if they give you plenty notice i think youll find theyre allowed to.
Just had a quick look at their terms n conditions.
look pretty iron clad.

Loooks like you need to pay or else.
