We purchased and had a bathroom fitted by Tecaz Oct 2007 and the toilet pan now has developed what looks like a fault in the glaze inside the pan.It couldn't have been caused accidentally by us as it's just under the rim it is now changing colour. We contacted Tecaz and sent them photos who contacted the manufacturer. the manufacturer has offered 'without prejudice' and in full and final settlement a replacement pan on condition we return the original and fit the replacement ourselves. Can i have your thoughts ? We are tempted to go through our building insurance ? and have arranged for a plumber to come out and have a look at it tomorrow. Has any one any better ideas thank you in advance .

Not really. Prob ly the exact route I would take. You can't really expect anything else after two Nd a half years.
I think you have got a reasonable deal. Changing a pan over as a one-for-one replacement isn't a big job - an hour max, perhaps, but you will get stuffed by minimum job times (because the biggest element unless you have a very local plumber is going to be the travelling time to get to your door).
You amy be able to get the whole job done under the accidental damage clause of your buildings cover, but there is going to be your excess to pay. Compare that to what labour price the plumber wants to fit it.
The most expensive part might actually be returning the damaged pan to the manufacturer.
