when his cousin (original employee) turn up for his job he was arrested and later on given 2 month suspended sentence. it was a job in a tesco store. my friend applied for police certificate back from home and his record show " No Trace". though it look a bit strange that why the employer didnt recognize my friend in first instance. the reason is that his cousin(Original Employee) was new employee and was his first day however didnt turn up for job due to illness and send his cousin(my friend).
when his cousin(original employee) turn up for job he was arrested on his first day in job.lol. I know its a complicated story or may be i have made it complicate by constantly shifting between original employee and fake employee.

@maidup. Yes, you are right the case is over as far his cousin(original employee) is concerned. because he was arrested and later given 2 month suspended sentence and sacked from job on his first day.lol
However, i am asking on my friend behalf who turn up for his cousin job. The reason i am asking is that he want to come to UK for Phd Studies since he got a scholarship and he says if he is charged with community work is fine. but if he went to jail then it mean he will be deported and his scholarship is worth around 120,000 pound (Phd Course of 4 year).

@maidup. i dont know whether its over or not. it was 5 year ago. for sure its over for his cousin as he has already been trialed and given 2 month suspended sentence.

I can't be sure about this, but I think your friend would have been arrested at the same time as his cousin. If he had already left the UK by then he's probably got away with this fairly minor offence.
It doesn't seem serious enough for the authorities to trace him but only the Police can tell you for sure.

@maidup. Yup, You are right. by the time police arrested his cousin, my friend had left uk due to family problems.
His police certificate shows "No Trace" Which i ask yesterday from police here in london . The police said, No Trace on certificate means the person has no convictions, cautions, warning and impending prosecutions.
police officer said if someone has impending prosecution then his certificate will shows "Trace"

Well either the police are telling the truth and he is not a wanted person or they are lying in the hope of enticing him back and arresting him. You choose.
The other possibility is that there is confusion over which cousin is which - is the person who is going to turn up to claim the scholarship the person who has actually been granted it?

The more I read the posts & answers the more my head becomes in a mucking fuddle.
You're saying "My friend turned up for his cousins job" you say at 'Tesco'
this is not how it is done here in the UK.
If my sister wanted 3 months off work, I couldn't step in & do it for her... Doh!!
(SOMETHING DOESN'T SOUND RIGHT HERE)
