If a care worker is attacked in a nursing home with mentally ill patients , and receives a broken nose , is there an organization of some sort to claim damages ??
I know such things are common but do not think there is a 'claim fund' though.

Thanks for that , don't seem right that a care worker on minimum wage should have to work in sometimes dangerous areas like this without any sort of insurance . I 'll get her to find out.
If there was negligence on behalf of the care home which led to the accident, then the care home's employers liability insurance company should be approached.
It would be helpful to hear from one of the ABers who works in this sort of setting, to know what the arrangements are in their homes.
If the care home failed to supply you with a reasonably safe working environment (including training on procedures) then they are liable to you regardless of whether they have insurance or not.
If you failed to follow such procedures then that's likely to let them off the hook.
