Hello everyone!

I'm writing a book and one of my characters is working as a criminal investigation detective. I want her to work in Peckham, London (where there has been a murder) but I cant find any information (any information that I can understand) about how the CID is divided? Can any police station have a CID, or is it just the head quarter in central London? HOW DOES IT WORK?

Thanks in advance

Ps. If you got any more useful information about CID or just common police work in UK, please don't hesitate to share :-)

This seems a good place to help with research, you don't want to get it wrong, readers will get the hump.

Okey, thank you, I will check it out! ps. I can add that I'm Swedish and don't understand English to 100 % - I'm not retarded
My experience is that most Swedes speak better English than the natives.
Felicia, if you yourself wrote that opening post then I'd say you definitely understand English 100%, I would never have guessed that you wasn't a native speaker. Good luck with the book.
