Policeman came to my house to question my son who is 13 and has ADHD.Apparently someone used Instagram to sell an item for £400 to not even deliver the goods. The account the money went into is my son's juniour savers.
I save a few £s a month in it and it is always with me but when it was his birthday I gave it to him to draw some money out.
He then returned the card to me so that I could withdraw £500 which is from an online saver into his Isa.
There was only £20 left so i returned the card to him so that he could take out the money.
Several weeks later asked for the card he said it was lost.Too busy over Xmas to report it lost..its not a debit card and it had no money in it.
Went to the bank in Jan only to be told its a police case and my son stole someones money.
The policeman has been twice to my house did not get my son but he says i should bring him in for questioning without a solicitor so it wont got to court.
Is that right?Im confused and my son is adamant he did not do anything.
Hes never been in trouble before though he has a short temper. My son says he wrote down the card's pin and lost it at school whilst playing football.

Speak to a solicitor. The police should not have told you to attend without one. It should have no bearing on what action might or might not be taken.

CAB is worth a visit and they could advise about legal aid
