Employers are increasingly non judgemental and will consider each case on its merits.
If the application states any convictions you can answer no as a caution is not a conviction.
Some types of nursing will not involve an enhanced CRB so the caution may not show.

Even if it only asks about criminal convictions I would put in your caution but clearly state it was a caution and not a conviction. They will then discuss it if they call you for interview and you will have a chance to explain. Don't just wait and see if it comes up in the CRB because if it does and you havent told them you are more likely to be sacked. Be upfront and you are showing them you're honest, hide it and it looks really bad. Good luck

I dont mean to go against the grain, but Im under the impression that a caution is on record for 3 years, once past that its considered as spent, to be on the safe side, Id ring a firmof solicitors and ask for a half hr consultation, if its free, then this will put your mind at rest, if they tell you it doesnt show up brilliant,if it does they could advice you best to approach it.

dont let this ruin your life, you need to put it behind you and move on. Explain that it was a rocky patch in your life, a cry for help and you learned your lesson. You dont have a criminal record, a caution does not create a criminal record, only convictions do. Be honest filling in any forms, if they ask about cautions, tell them
Good luck and seriously, forgive yourself and dont let it wreck your life. Everyone makes mistakes occasionally and deserves a second chance. Its a minor petty crime not the end of the world x

you dont have to tell them unless they ask remember, but jobs in healthcare and government, NHS stuff always do. Maybe you could try getting into somehing different, call centre or office work? Have you tried enrolling with employment agencies? Please dont be so hard on yourself, life will be ok you will see
hi,
iam so sorry to hear about your situation, as i feel exactly the same.
i have jus spent 3 years studying radiography and am about the qualify this year. i have a reprimand and a caution for shopliftting, and feel so depressed when filling out apllication froms to work in the NHS hospitals, as they ask whether you have any cautions etc.
when you filled out your froms and were honest, did u get any replys from jobs?or interviews? there is so much competition these days, what is a person to do?

behappy, I feel like if I could turn the clock I would or even re live my life. Most of the jobs turn you down as soon as u put it down on the form. I feel like I have changed and deserve a second chance , believe me am struggling for jobs and unemployed at the moment but don't lose hope keep trying. Whatever you do honesty is the best policy or else you will get a sac.
i feel bad for you!! its so unfair that people us stigmatise like that and dont even give people a chance in life.i could c myself bein in that same predicament.
how long ago was ure caution?coz i heard that that matters.
also, i was thinkin that when i fill out a form i was thinkin to fill out the crb bit, then write a section explaing why it happened in the form and like give a sob story to explain y it happened.
wot do u thiink? would u try the same and c.
have u had any interviews so far?

behappy I have a few more interviews lined up . With fingers crossed . Most of the time the employers send off the crb forms and wouldn't want anyone to add anything on it. I think if we could send it off ourself we could try .I like the idea. M y caution is from oct 2003. I made a misktake which I regret but I feel am not understood. A m being shut out.
