Hi. Had a bit of a weird bank holiday weekend half of it spent in a cell.
Well here goes on Sunday night. Myself and the live in g/f where out drinking heavily. Somehow we gotten into a verbal argument and i walked off leaving her with the group I left and returned to the flat we shared. In a moment of supreme drinking madness I ended up trashing the place (wreaking a tally and knocking over a book shelf and knocking glass all over the place. and then fell asleep in the heap. not before cutting my hand badly.
.
My g/f returned about an hour later and we got into a screaming match. It got a little nasty. Both of us behaved badly her punching me a few times and me pushing her onto the bed. Unknown to me before shed waken me she had rang her mother about the damage. The mother who arrive shortly after and my g/f ran out side to meet her. As she reentered the flat, my g/f ran up to me and stuck her face in mine and started screaming at me. Unsure if I was going to get another punch or not I pushed her away from me and she fell against a metal bookshelf in the hall. This was seen by her mother who called the police upon me and i left with the police voluntary.

After i woke in the morning and was transferred from one police station to another. I was then informed my g/f and her mother as a witness had filed a complained against me for criminal damage and assault. I spent 2 days in the cell before being released. Upon getting tot he mag's court i entered a plea of guilty of the damage and not guilty for the assault.

i waiting for my next mag's court appearance and have contracted a solicitor but am wondering do i have a hope in hell of beating the charge or as it would more than likely lead to a crown court appearance would it be better to put in a guilty plea and just take a hit on this one.

i'm i putting my self at risk of a higher sentence by taking this course of action

This case will not make it to the Crown court unless you elect. If you plead not guilty and are found guilty then yes the sentence will be increased but - assuming you have no revious record and its not a serious assault this is unlikley to result in a custodial sentence.
